Established in 1974, Morganton Eye Physicians, P.A. is a group ophthalmic practice with clinic locations in the foothills region of Western North Carolina.
Morganton Eye Physicians offers comprehensive eye examinations for eye glasses and contact lenses, as well as advanced medical and surgical treatments for sight-threatening conditions such as cataracts, corneal disease, glaucoma,and diabetic-related eye diseases. Fellowship-trained sub-speciliasts are available in retina, oculoplastics, corneal, glaucoma.
Morganton Eye Physicians offers a complete array of refractive services, including LASIK, PRK, and the latest presbyopia correcting Accommodating Intraocular Lenses. Morganton Eye Physicians also provides a range of cosmetic & reconstructive surgery and aesthetic services to refresh, renew and restore your eyes and facial appearance.
Morganton Eye Physicians operates six modern and well maintained clinic locations. Each clinic location also features a full service optical shop offering a broad array of frame designs and lens technologies. Morganton Eye Physicians also operates two state-licensed, Medicare-certified and nationally accredited outpatient surgery centers dedicated exclusively to our patients.
As a service to our patients, Morganton Eye Physicians participates with most major insurance plans and accepts Medicare assignment. Extended office hours are offered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and until noon on Saturdays. In the event of an after hours emergency, Morganton Eye Physicians has a physician on call 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.

Morganton Eye Physicians, PA is pleased to announce the association of Dr. Jeremy Bonkowske for the practice of Cornea and External Disease and Surgery. Dr. Bonkowske obtained his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine and completed an internship at the University of Missouri Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Bonkowske completed his ophthalmology residency at Wake Forest University, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Bonkowske completed a comprehensive one-year fellowship in cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery at the Dean McGee Eye Center at the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Bonkowske is now accepting patients at our Morganton, Marion, Forest City, and Shelby locations.
