Leighton A. Raynor, M.D.

 Dr. Raynor, a native of
Apex, North Carolina, earned a bachelor's degree, with Phi Eta Sigma & Phi Beta Kappa
academic honors, in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He
also received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
Following medical school, Dr. Raynor completed an internal medicine internship and was a
resident in internal medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He then
completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine at
Gainesville.
Dr. Raynor has been in private practice with Morganton Eye Physicians, P.A. since 1982
and has performed several thousand eye surgeries and laser procedures. Dedicated to the
highest standards of surgical expertise and personalized patient care, Dr. Raynor has
received the Physicians Recognition Award from the American Medical Association on
multiple occasions. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a fellow of
the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgical
Society, a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, a member of
the NC Society for Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and a member of the North Carolina and
Burke County Medical Societies. |
