
Dr. Edelman is a native of Rome, NY. He did his undergraduate work at Utica College of Syracuse University. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1983.
Dr. Edelman started private practice in Philadelphia, PA in a contact lens specialty practice. After moving to North Carolina in 1984, Dr. Edelman and his wife, Dr. Tammy Edelman, started their private practice in Forest City and expanded to locations in Shelby, Rutherfordton, and Asheville. They merged their Doctors Vision Center practices with Morganton Eye Physicians, PA in 1999.
Dr. Edelman is the past president of the Mountain District Optometric Society, and is a member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina State Optometric Society, and the Piedmont Optometric Society.
Dr. Edelman currently practices in the Forest City and Shelby Morganton Eye Physicians, PA/Doctors Vision Center locations. He specializes in primary eyecare, including the detection and treatment of eye diseases, as well as the treatment of infections and injuries. Dr. Edelman has 20 years experience in contact lenses and eyewear.

Morganton Eye Physicians, PA is pleased to announce the association of Dr. Jeremy Bonkowske for the practice of Cornea and External Disease and Surgery. Dr. Bonkowske obtained his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine and completed an internship at the University of Missouri Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Bonkowske completed his ophthalmology residency at Wake Forest University, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Bonkowske completed a comprehensive one-year fellowship in cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery at the Dean McGee Eye Center at the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Bonkowske is now accepting patients at our Morganton, Marion, Forest City, and Shelby locations.
