Dr. Salisbury earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Centenary College in Shreveport, L.A. He graduated from Tulane University Medical School in 1977 and completed an internship in medicine the following year. Dr. Salisbury received his specialty training in ophthalmology at Duke University and his board certification from the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1983.
Dr. Salisbury is a member of the North Carolina and Burke County Medical Societies. He has staff privileges at Grace, Rutherford, Catawba, Valdese, and Cleveland Hospitals. He started his private practice in 1982 and joined Morganton Eye Physicians, P.A. in 1989.
Dr. Salisbury has been married to Jan Salisbury for twenty-seven years and has two teenage children, Lauren and Barrett. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church of Morganton. In his free time he enjoys tennis, rowing, and art. He is a member of several tennis associations including, the USPTA, USRSA, and USTA.

Morganton Eye Physicians, PA is pleased to announce the association of Dr. Jeremy Bonkowske for the practice of Cornea and External Disease and Surgery. Dr. Bonkowske obtained his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine and completed an internship at the University of Missouri Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Bonkowske completed his ophthalmology residency at Wake Forest University, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Bonkowske completed a comprehensive one-year fellowship in cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery at the Dean McGee Eye Center at the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Bonkowske is now accepting patients at our Morganton, Marion, Forest City, and Shelby locations.
