Botox is a cosmetic form of botulinum toxin and is used to temporarily reduce or eliminate frown lines, forehead creases, and "crows feet" near the eyes. In as little as 10 minutes, a few Botox injections can erase the wrinkles that occur when we laugh, smile or frown.

When injected near the area of treatment, Botox blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. Because Botox is administered through a series of small painless injection, you can receive quick and discreet treatment of those lines and creases which may make you look older than you really feel.
It takes approximately three days for the Botox effect to appear; however, by the end of the first week, there will be significant resolution of the dynamic wrinkles as the underlying muscles further relax. The effects of Botox usually last three to five months; after several treatments the effects of Botox may last longer. In individual cases, two injections a year may reduce or eliminate the need for significant plastic surgery to otherwise correct these wrinkles.
