Laser Vein Repair
You may have noticed fine, little red veins on your nose, chin
or cheeks that didn't use to be there. These are telangiectasias
or facial spider veins, and they appear as a normal part of aging.
They can also result from pregnancy, birth control pills, estrogen
replacement therapy, sun damage, even corticosteroids. In the past
there was little you could do about spider veins. Now there's the
new VersaPulse® Aesthetic Laser, a state-of-the-art system
specially designed to treat spider veins and other vascular lesions.
This laser virtually erases spider veins with no incisions or injections
and little risk of the damage to surrounding tissue that other lasers
and therapies can cause.
Laser treatments for telangiectasias depend on the quantity, size,
and depth of the veins. Most patients need between one and three
20-minute sessions. The procedure is performed in the office, and
most patients do not require anesthesia. Ask us about the VersaPulse®
laser and how we can use it to treat your facial telangiectasias!
Conditions the VersaPulse Laser can treat include:
- Leg veins; spidery, reddish-purple veins on the thighs and lower
legs (not to be confused with varicose veins)
- Facial veins; fine, little red veins on the nose, chin, and
cheeks
- Port-wine stains and cherry angiomas (small vascular blemishes)
